One of the awards we are most proud of here at Class Act Reporting, LLC is one given to our owner, Rose Tamburri. She won the second annual speed and accuracy contest held by the U.S. Court Reporters Association in New Orleans, La. Here is the article which was printed in The Legal Intelligencer.
District Court Stenographer Wins Speed, Accuracy ContestRose Tamburri, official court reporter for Judge J. William Ditter Jr., of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pa., placed first out of 80 competitors at the second annual speed contest held at a recent convention of the U.S. Court Reporters Association in New Orleans, La.
The contest consisted of three parts: a literary section dictated at 230 words per minute, a legal argument dictated at 240 words per minute and trial testimony dictated at 285 words per minute. Tamburri not only kept pace with the dictation during the entire contest, but she finished the contest with only eight mistakes in her entire transcript. She earned a combined score of 99.95 percent accuracy. All 80 competitors represented the fastest stenographers in their respective district courts. Tamburri's first-place finish establishes her as the fastest and most accurate court reporter in the country. On the final day of the convention, Tamburri was presented with an "Award of Excellence" trophy, a plaque and a certificate of accomplishment. |
